There’s a leaked Android 4.3 Jelly Bean ROM out in the wild this morning, in the form of a pre-release build for the Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition . It’s also been ported to the European LTE Galaxy S4 (GT-i9505) in the form of a custom ROM, courtesy of the original source of the leak, Samsung fansite SamMobile.
It had been saying that the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S4 Google Edition will be officially rolled out next month. But Android 4.3 Jelly Bean upgrade firmware ROM is leaked out for Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition.
If you own the Google Play Edition of the Galaxy S4 or the GT-I9505, you can install Android 4.3 Jelly Bean pretty easily. The leak comes via SamMobile.
In order to install the leaked stock Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware on your Samsung Galaxy S4 you will have to act like flashing a custom ROM. In fact that’s what the it actually is, a custom ROM for the Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505, but since the guys at Sammobile didn’t perform any changes to it, you will be able to enjoy the pure Android experience. They say that the build number will be changed to JWR66N and that it runs flawlessly, even though it’s “still in development phases and does not have all the features which are yet to be implemented.”
Installing the ported Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on your Samsung Galaxy S4 will void the warranty. By flashing Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on your Samsung Galaxy S4, you will lose all the TouchWiz-specific features like Air Gesture, Motion Controls, or Camera app special functions. Instead you will get the pure Android experience and the new interface introduced for the Camera.
